feelings of the Hawk, Bird's-eye view (CM, November 18), towards the passing of the name Albion.

In my opinion the name Albion must live on, as also should AEC and Guy, which are hanging on by a shoestring, with a few "S" registrations about. Scammell appears to be holding its own, but for how long?

am the operator of a 24-ton Leyland (Albion) Clydesdale tractive unit, to my mind an Albion through and through with the added "G" range cab. This vehicle is everything its name implies, a workhorse — well-tried engine, and driv line.

I wrote to BL telling the of my satisfaction with my Albion — sorry, Leyland vehicle — and while doing inquired as to whether or they had any of the old oval-shaped Albion Super Clydesdale badges.

This must have been XIII final crunch for BL, the thought of a new vehicle running about with a coup of Albion badges on it, as, unfortunately, they didn't answer my letter.
