Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

MAJOR changes in the organisation of the Commercial Motor Lorry Driver of the Year competition will take place next year.

The changes include a new venue for the finals and much more secrecy during the regional run-off competitions. This, said national secretary of the competition John Wells "should ensure a much fairer competition for all — especially for the small haulier."

The new venue will be the Cranfield Aerodrome and the date for the 1978 finals will be Sunday, September 3.

It is hoped the Cranfield Institute of Technology will be able to provide enough facilities for the biggest finals ever held.

Mr Wells told CM he saw the competition bringing together many more people from all sides of the road transport industry — "a real showcase for the industry.

"We want more participation from manufacturers and dealers, and greater interest from the small haulier who now stands a better chance of winning."

The reason for this is because regional run-offs will not receive their test instructions till the day of the event.

Centres running tests on different dates will have different driving tests to avoid competitors visiting other regional centres and receiving advanced warning of what the tests consist.
