r–FHE names of further hauliers who have successfully tendered for transport units offered in list 13 are reported this week from the East Midlands, Eastern Counties and the Home Counties.

NORTHERN AREA Another eight vehicles, including five articulated outfits (31 tons 12 cwt.), have been bought by Mr. W. Storey, Portare, Ackworth, near Pontefract. They arc based at Rowlands • Gill. One of the articulated outfits (3 tons 13 cwt.) has been transferred to Littlewoods Transport, Ltd., Carlton-in-Lindrick, near Worksop.

The Northern Licensing Authority has authorized the following assignments: a lorry (3 tons 12 cwt.) based at Newcastle upon Tyne to Mr. R. Armstrong, 85 Newgate Street, Newcastle upon Tyne, by Comherhill Motors, Ltd., Olympia Garage, trigs Road, Wakefield; one (5 tons 4 cwt.) to Messrs. Crostbwaite and Thompson, 2 Brunswick Terrace, Penrith, by Mr. J. L. Hodgson. Melkinthorpe, Penrith; one

Messrs. J. and J. G. Purses, "Blue Bell Farm, Belford, have transferred two lorries 46 tons 8 cwt.) and a container, to John Purses and Son (Belford), Ltd.; of the same. address.

A special A licence for three lorries (9 tons 17 cwt.). held by Messrs. Purves. has been revoked on the transfer of the vehicles to an ordinary A licence.

NORTH-WEST Three more vehicles, all of them articulated outfits (121 tons), have been acquired by Mr. W. Blamire, Glenhurst Garage, Chapel Lane, Longton, Preston. Woodcocks Transport (Chorley). Ltd., Park Road Garage, Ileskin. Chorley, who have taken over two lorries (16 tons), based in Salford, from Comberhill Motors, Ltd., Olympia Garage, Ings Road, Wakefield, have now transferred them to Blue .Bird Garages (Hull), Ltd., Hull.

WEST MIDLANDS

A lorry weighing 3 tons unladen has been taken over by Messrs. J. and W. Wass, Goddard Street Garage, Langton,

Messrs. Sutton Bros., 75 Pitcher's Hill, Wiekhamstead, Evesham have taken over two lorries (51 tons) from Caudle, Ltd., Coventry Road, Sheldon, Birmingham. Caudle have also transferred a lorry (3 cons) to Mr. P. Hall, 43a Albert Street, Tamworth.

John Gough (Wellington), Ltd., Great Western Wharf, Wellington, Salop, have had two lorries (10[ tons) transferred to them by Mr. John Gough, of the same address.

Mr. T. J. Hughes, 264 Dick Lane, Bradford, who has acquired two lorries (111 tons), based in Warwick, has sold One of them (51 tons) to Murphy Bros., Ltd., Melton Road, Thurmaston.

J. Hart and Sons, Ltd., Woodhouse Garage, Biddulph, Stoke-on-Trent, have taken over a lorry (41 tons) from Mr. L. Gleave. Audlem; Messrs, .1. and C. Haulage, 5 Digby Road, Sutton Coldfield, one (61 tons) from Mrs. F. A. Jones, of the same address; }Enfield Transport (Derby), Ltd., Monk Street, Derby, one (51 tons) from Ashmores (Auto Engineers), Ltd., Roebuck Lane, West Bromwich; and Charles Walley (Jubilee Garage), Ltd., Congleton, one (31 tons) by Messrs. J. and A. Turnock, Brick Kiln Lane, Etruria, Stoke-on-Trent.

EAST MIDLANDS Peterborough unit 9441, comprising a lorry (2 tons 19 cwt.), has been acquired by Messrs. W. F. and F. Coxon, Station Road, North Thoresby, Grimsby.

EASTERN COUNTIES Six list 13 one-vehicle units have been bought. by Mr. G. W. Machin, Surfleet, Spalding. Three of them (9453, 9455 and 9567), based at Wisbech, represent a total unladen weight of 7 tons, and the others (9442, 9443 and 9447), based in Peterborough, 9 torts.

0. G. Barnard and Sons, Ltd., Stowmarket, have successfully tendered for Wisbech units 9459 and 9460, each comprising a lorry (21 tons). Another Wisbech unit (9452)—a lorry weighing 21 tons unladen—has gone to Hauliers (Eastern), Ltd., Bishop's Stortford. Two one-vehicle Units, each comprising a lorry (3 tons), have been acquired by Mr. R. Taylor Balls, West Row, Bury St. Edmunds. Based at Cambridge, the units were 9428 and 9429.

Mr. V. J. Grange, Bridge Street, Peterborough, has successfully tendered for another unit (9413), based at Batley, comprising a lorry (21 tons): Weldon unit 9523 has gone to Mr. M. G. Loades, St. Mary's, King's Lynn. It consisted of a lorry with an unladen weight of 5 tons.

WESTERN AREA Western Transport. Ltd., '75 Feeder Road, Bristol, have acquired a further five lorries (12 tons 14 cwt.).

Other repeat purchasers are Mr. 1. R. Dunkerley. 19 High Street, Chipping Sodbury, who has bought another lorry (7 tons 7 cwt.). and Mr. E. Lawrence, Berrio Bridge, North Hill, Launceston, one

(7 tons 3 cwt.).

Two articulated vehicles (5 tons 7 cwt.) and two trailers have been taken over by Mr. H. F. • Whitton, Station Road, Cullompton, in a first purchase.

LONDON AND HOME COUNTIES Thirteen more lorries (32 tons 6 cwt.) and four trailers, have been acquired by Hay's Wharf, Ltd., St. Olaf House, Tooley Street, London, S.E.1.

A further 29 vehicles and a trailer have been acquired by Messrs. J.. M., P., T.

and V. Regan, Chun Farm, Iforsmonden.

Ten of the vehicles (30 tons 2 cwt.) and the trailer were bought by J. Regan; nine

vehicles (27 tons 6 ewt,) by M. Regan; four (10 tons 8 cwt.) by P. Regan; five (9 tons 7 cwt.) by T. Regan; and one (14 cwt,) by V. Regan.

Two of the lorries have been transferred to W. West (Haulage), Ltd., Tons Garage, Bow Common Lane, London, E.3. One of them (II tons) came from M. Regan, and the other (1 ton 2 cwt.) from P. Regan. Boardman's (S:ratford), Ltd., 54-70 Broadway, London. E.15, have acquired another 14 lorries (39 tons 19 cwt). Two of these (5 tons 16 cwt.) have been made over to H. and H. Bristow, Ltd., 42 Spur Howe Road, London, E.8; three (8 tons 9 cwt.) to A. Green (Haulage), Ltd., 12 Newland Street, London, E.16; and.one (2 tons 13 cwt,) to Rasey Express Shipping Agency, Ltd., 150-152 Fenchurch Street, London. E.C.3.

Two list 13 units based in T..ondon have gone to Mr. F. Harris, 209a Hertford Road. Enfield. They arc Finsbury unit 7851, comprising two lorries (5 tons), and Bethnal Green unit 9114, a van (I ton).
