THE number and value of commercial-vehicle exports for the nine months to September this year were 21,500 units and £10m. higher than in the comparable period of 1954. Output for the nine months was 244,777 units, adtich compares with 187,236 units in the corresponding period the previous year.

Weekly average output for September was 7,056, the total for the month being 35,281. Of this number, 34,246 were goods vehicles, road haulage tractors and special types made up as follow: 19,463 under 15 -cwt. carrying capacity, 6,554 from 15 cwt.-3 tons, 5,620 from 3 tons-6 tons and 2,609 Over 6 'tons.

Of the 864 pasSenger vehicles built, 678 were single-deck and 185 doubledeck motorbuses and one was a.trolleybus. Battery-electrics leached a total of 171.

Thu total for passenger Vehicles was 7,090, of which 5,530 were single-deck and 1,518 double-deck motorbuses and 42 were trolieybuses. The total of battery-electrics was 955.

Exports daring September totalled 13,803 units, their value, excluding dumpers and industrial trucks, being 17,690,671, For the nine months to September, the value of commercialvehicle exports was .69,376,454. .

This gives a quarterly average of 123,125,484 and assuming that this rate is .maintained, 'exports for 1955 would total £92,501,936. There are, however, good prospects of this figure being exceeded.
