cultural Machinery Exhibition, which will be opened by the Rt. Hon. Tom Williams, M.P., Minister of Agriculture, at Earls Court on December 5, was originally known as the Smithfield Fat Stock Show. With the growing use of machinery in agriculture the Show has become predominantly of mechanical interest. This is borne out by the respective allotments of space for this year's Show. Whereas livestock and cattle will occupy 60,000 sq. ft., 160,000 sq. ft. will be given over to machinery . and accessories.
The post-war years have seen remarkable developments in the use of hydraulic controls of mounted and semi-mounted tractor implements and machines, and visitors will have an opportunity of viewing the most up-to-date equipment of this kind.
On this and following pages, exhibits which come within the sphere of "The Commercial Motor " are dealt with under appropriate section headings in alphabetical order, according to the maker's or distributor's names.
The organizations responsible for this year's Show are the Smithfield Club, the Agricultural Engineers' Association and the Society of Motor Manufacturers and • Traders.
