Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

PENTALVER HAS signed a deal that will see it open a vehicle pre-clearance facility for the export of second-hand vehicles.

The deal is a joint venture with New Zealand-based vehicle logistics irm Autohub and Japanese inspection company Jevic and is based at Pentalver’s depot in Felixstowe. The facility has the capacity to handle 30,000 cars and small vans per year.

Pentalver MD Chris Lawrenson says: “Our joint venture with Autohub and Jevic is a irst for the UK and demonstrates how we work with our clients to provide tailored, effective solutions, no matter what the requirement.” Every vehicle shipped by Autohub through Felixstowe will undergo a roadworthiness inspection at Pentalver’s site allowing the vehicle to be delivered directly to the port, inspected and exported in the shortest possible time.

Vehicles will primarily be exported to New Zealand and East Africa, with exports to New Zealand requiring strict biosecurity inspections.

The facility is possible because the government in New Zealand has introduced a Euro-5 minimum emissions standard for all vehicles, and the traditionally dominant Japanese second-hand export market does not meet such requirements.

The facility opens later this month.
