MANN and Son (International) Ltd has appointed Mike Gray to the main board as group operations director. He will be responsible for all the group's many road and sea operations, although initially he will be concentrating on Trailermann, the Harwich-based member of the group. Mr Gray started his career as a management trainee with Shaw Saville Line, moving on to become development manager for Geest Transportation in Lincoln. He then joined Ferrymasters as port manager in Ipswich before promotion to operations manager for the South of England.

Tony Crean has been the financial and administration director of Pandora since the company's launch in 1975, and he succeeds the director and general manager of Pandoro Leone Donkin who has retired.

Former managing director of ASA Aeroservices Brian Harrison has been made managing director of a new freight forwarding company, IMX UK Ltd. Mr Harrison is closing down his own business, Aeolus Freight Services, because of his cornmitment to the new company.

Harry McBride has been promoted by P and 0 Ferries to terminal manager designate at Southampton. Mr McBride. started off as an office boy with P and 0 37 years ago and went to Southampton in 1949. He takes over as terminal manager in September, upon the retirement of Charles Rawlings.

Councillor Jack Graham (Labour, Tyne and Wear) has been elected chairman of the Planning and Transportation Committee of the Association of Metropolitan Authorities, having been a member of the Committee since its inception in 1974. He is a member of the Planning and Transportation Committee of Tyne and Wear County Council and vicechairman of its Transportation Committee. Elected vice. chairman of the AMA committee was Councillor Stan Etchells, chairman of Rotherham MDC Planning Committee.

Promoted to administration manager for Hertz Truck Rental and Leasing is Esther Gowers. Miss Gowers joined Hertz more than three years ago as a rental representative in the UK and moved to the position of station manager at the Marble Arch office.
