HOW WEST BROMWICH FARED

A net loss of £435 was incurred on the operation of lorries, light cars and ambulances, compared with a net loss of £1,965 in 1944-45. Working costs • totalled £21,073.

The appropriation account shows that the net profit on the whole undertaking was £15,440, against £14,509.

FIRST ORDER FROM THE FAROES

THE first order from the Faroe Isles for British-built bus bodies has been received through the Consulate in Leith by Cadogart 1Perth), Ltd., bodybuilders.

During the war this company built bus bodies for the Orkneys, Shetlands and Hebrides. The new order is for 20-seater chassis.

65-M.P.H. BUS MADE IN U.S.

A BUS with a length of 60 ft. and a maximum speed of 65 m.p.h. has been produced by the Permanent° Metals Corporation of America, states Reuter. The vehicle has a seating capacity of 40. Plans are in hand for the production of a similar type to carry 63 passengers.

The metal parts of the bus are 60 per cent, magnesium and 40 per cent. alu minium. A low centre of gravity is obtained by mounting the engine behind the front axle.
