its fleet helped boost Dawsongroup's truck rental profits last year, says the company. Dawsongroup chief executive Michael Williams says slimming Dawsonrentals' sites from 41 to 30 and "slightly reducing" the fleet has boosted profits.
Trailer rental rates fell by about 3% over the year but profits continued to rise. Dawsongroup saw pre-tax profits jump 19% from £7.23m in 1996 to £8.61m in 1997. And Dawsonrentals has ordered 250 new Volvo vehicles.
