Chris Wootton sums up the general attitude to foreign drivers when he says: “They go past you with their feet on the dash watching a porn film, and the trucks always have bits hanging off them.” He does, however, concede that “the French and Dutch aren’t too bad”. Brian Skinner has no problem “apart from them just cutting you up – and they do”. But Lawrence Baldock thinks: “They seem to get the raw end of the deal, getting the blame for hitting cars when they’re in their blindspot. Not enough people have been over the water and seen it from the other side.”
