Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

By Chris Tindall A NEW WAVE OF business failures has rocked the industry, with yet more operators succumbing to the fall-out from the UK’s weakening economic recovery.

Northants-based Assured Logistics Solutions (ALS) has gone into administration. Insolvency experts Bond Partners declined to comment on the situation, but Companies House records show that it was appointed to the Corby haulage company on 1 September. CM attempted to contact ALS director William Allan but was referred to Bond Partners. VOSA records show that the business has a licence to trade out of two operating centres with a combined authorisation for 20 vehicles and 30 trailers.

Allan has previously been involved in Enterprise Logistics, a Corby storage and haulage irm that entered liquidation in 2009 and was dissolved in July last year. ALS previously traded as Enterprise Logistics (UK) until February 2009.

Allan also holds directorships at Sovereign Transport Solutions, which has had a proposal to strike it off suspended at Companies House; Inov8 Movements; Midland Fleet Services, which has a proposal to strike it off raised against it; and ALS E-Fulilment Services.

Kent-based Eltonline Distribution Services has also been forced to call in administrators.

Advisory irm RSM Tenon was appointed to the Sittingbourne company, which holds a licence for 18 vehicles and 11 trailers operating out of two centres, on 30 August.

CM was unable to contact the directors before going to press and RSM Tenon was unable to respond.

Cardiff-based vehicle recovery irm Dragon Rescue entered liquidation at the start of the month, citing diminishing levels of work and banks withdrawing inancial support.
