Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

YOUR STORY headed -T&G benefit in doubt as it goes into the red" (CM 8 September) might give the impression that T&G members might not get the benefits that they have paid for.

I would like to make it clear that our union of 850,000 will always honour its commitments.

When (or if) we amalgamate with AMICUS and GMB we will be a union of several million members representing almost all unionised lorry drivers in the county.

Although the terms of our DriverCare scheme do have to be re-assessed the substance will remain the same.

Given the accidents and other problems that can cost lorry drivers thousands and thousands of pounds, the issue is not whether the T&G can afford this or that (we will somehow or other), but can any lorry driver afford not to be in the T&G?
