Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Independent dealer Malcolm Harrison is carrying out a growing number ot auctions at hauliers' premises as Firms slim down or close. "We're in hard times, and auctions are becoming a more and more important part of what we do," he says. Harrison doesn't intend to turn his operation into a full-time auction house, however, and will be remaining in the retail trade.

"There's plenty of business out there, but you can't sit and wait for the phone to ring."

Interest in post-1994 17-tanners remains healthy, he says, although chassis with refrigerated bodies have to be newer than that to spark interest. "There's still a good market for eight-wheelers too," he adds.

Tractor units have to be post-1992 to attract customers, he continues. There's little desire for older units.
