Some answers, Mr Norris

T am speaking not only for myself, but also for the majority of Road Haulage Association members. Why, in the time you have been director general of the MA, do the media always introduce you as "ex-transport minister"? Is it that if Londoners think you are fully employed you will not be considered for Lord Mayor of London or London transport minister? God help London!

Mr Norris, we would also like to know where our money has gone. You say cost-cutting within the RHA is due to the loss of carnet income. Why is it that since you have been the RHA's director general this income is included in the accounts? Before your time the income from carnet sales was not taken into account it was always invested.

Yes, Mr Norris, you are employed by the RHA. We all assume from your lifestyle that you are well rewarded for your efforts. Well, let me tell you that no haulier has to join or be a member of the RHA. We do so and pay our hard-earned money for leadership and support. You and your little band of highly paid ex-high-flyers need to start working for us, the members.

Mr Norris, move into the Weybridge office. We all know you feel you need to be near to Parliament. What for? To do better lobbying for the Lord Mayor of London's vacancy or for the hauliers of this Association?

Please can we have some answers? Name and address withheld.
