;0 UK is adding two models he end of the year to its Num-weight Z-range of mis cabs and vans, and inlucing its 6X2 twin-steer Live unit for 38-tonne operaright away.

le new Z-range vehicles will on display at the Scottish or Show.

ie Z-range 109.14 two-axle ;sis cab is powered by lyeimproved 5.5-litre naturally rated six-cylinder diesel en designed manifolds and in'elves give the 8060 04S betair swirl and combustion -acteristics resulting in an insed power output to 90kW :bhp) at 3,200rpm and a rise )rque to 363Nm (268 lbft) at Orpm.

The vehicle is fitted with lveco 2846 five-speed all-synchromesh gearbox driving through a 5.125 to 1 single-reduction spiral-bevel final drive.

It has a choice of 3.2, 3.8, 4.4 and 5.1m wheelbases. Parabolic springs are fitted all round with helper springs on the rear, while hydraulic double-acting telescopic dampers are fitted on both axles. Low-profile 265/70R 19.5 tubeless radials help to maintain an 800mm (31.5in) frame height.

Changes to the brake specifications compared with the 100.13 model include smaller 32 5mm (12.7 5in) diameter drums but much wider 140mm (5.5in) front and 160mm (6.25in) rear shoe linings.

An air-operated butterflyvalve-type exhaust brake mounted in the exhaust manifold is also added to its specification.

The smaller 7.5-tonne gvw 79.14 model which is an improved version of the 79.10 chassis cab is fitted with the revised 8060.04S six-cylinder engine and 2846 five-speed gearbox, but by using the ZF Gemmer worm and roller 26.1 ratio steering box does not have power assistance.

The most significant change to this model is the use of disc brakes on its front axle.

lveco's new 220.38 three-axle 38-tonne-gcw tractor has its second steered axle positioned so as to form a bogie with the driving axle spaced at 1.3m (4ft 3in) apart. Both rear axles have air suspension and the outer axle spread is set at 3.78m (12ft Sin).

Based mechanically on the 190.38 two-axle tractive unit, the 220.38 has the lveco 8280.22 17.17-litre twin turbocharged V8 engine.

Front suspension is by parabolic springs while the rear bogie's air suspension includes single air bags on the centre axle and twin air bags on the driving axle.
