Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

The Road Haulage Association has never been short of good chairmen! Over the years, each in his own way and some at considerable personal expense have furthered the cause of the haulier. Each has fought a personal crusade. There was Noel Wynn's war with RTITB. Phillip Turner going after that villain "Transport Bill". Willie MacMillan trying to "cool it". John Wells fighting on a broad political spectrum and aiming at professionalism, and Ken Hatcher working away on the low-profile approach.

But what of the future? Good as their predecessors have been, I cannot remember a team like today's big three who appear to have so much potential.

Jack Male seems a natural to fight for rates; John Silbermann is the educationalist and Ken Rodgers is the strong all-rounder. There's a lot of power there and their respective areas, the Midlands, the Met and the Eastern, are never found wanting when there's a battle to be fought and won. They also dispense wonderful hospitality, as some of us have discovered again this week
