THE PRICES of all Volkswagen commercial vehicles have been increased by 12.5 per cent for 1977.
This means that top of the range LT35 panel van now retails at £3,921 excluding VAT, while the largest chassis cab version costs £3,470, again excluding VAT.
An additional £554 is needed if the Perkins 4.165 diesel power unit is specified instead of the standard 2 litre petrol engine.
Among the smaller 1 ton Type 2 delivery vehicles the basic 1600cc panel van has been raised in price to £2,667 with the 2000ec engine option available for an additional £265, excluding VAT.
Delivery charges, seat belts and number plates are also additional to the basic prices. All the new costs relate to 1977 vehicles, with 1976 models staying as VW's March price list.
