Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

remoulded tyres on the front axle of an artic. habitually used on motorways? The tyres would be of correct size, ie 900 x 20 steel radial type,

AThere are no legal or practical restrictions on the use of a maker's remoulds on front wheels, according to a major tyre manufacturer, but it seems to be an established practice in the industry to avoid doing so wherever possible.

However, a spokesman for the Remould Manufacturers' Association, which represents the independent remoulders, not the tyre manufacturers, assures us that provided the tyres were remoulded by a reputable firm to the British Standard set for the purpose — BS AU144A — they would be suitable for any use for which the original tyre was suitable.

We are told by the Tyre Manufacturers' Conference that in giving guidance to users on the speeds and use to which tyres may be safely subjected, they recommend that remoulded truck tyres for normal highway service may be operated at speeds up to 55 mph.
