Prof Roland Smith, 43, has been appointed a part-time member of the board of the National Bus Company.

Bell (Wandsworth LB) have been re-elected executive committeemen; A. Hurford (Caerphilly and F. Riley (Redbridge LB) are new members; J. Bonser (Waltham Cross LB) has retired.

P. McC. Carruthers, operations manager: and E. S. Barbut, company secretary, have been appointed directors of The Distillers Co (Distribution) Ltd.

Wilfrid Andrews, chairman of the RAC, has become the first Englishman to be made a President d'Honneur of the Federation Internationale de l'Automobile.

Michael L. Kilby has been appointed general sales manager, AC-Delco division; he was formerly plant manager at the company's Southampton plant. Peter Batchelor becomes manager, AC-Delco equipment sales; he was formerly for three years manager, equipment sales (automobile). Jervis W. Coats becomes manager, replacement parts operation, AC-Delco division; he was formerly manager, sales ,administration, vehicle division.
