Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• The availability of fully equipped commercial-vehicle workshops at the new premises of Bristol Street Motors (Derby) Ltd, Derby, will enable the company's contract maintenance service to be considerably expanded, CM was told by Mr Rhys Williams, the commercial sales manager, after the recent official opening of the premises. The concern is a distributor of Bedford trucks and for Vauxhall and Opel cars. Covering an area of 51 acres, the site is the largest owned by the Bristol Street Motors Group.

A number of own-account operators with fleets of eight to 25 vehicles are currently making use of the maintenance service and mainly comprise FTA members. In a typical case, types of vehicle have been purchased and a fleet has been enlarged in accordance with the advice of the company. And some owner-drivers are making use of the service, which in due course will be available throughout the 24 hours. There will also be facilities for leasing and hiring trucks.

A roller brake tester will shortly be added to the existing installations, which include two inspection-and-lubrication pits, an axle weigher and a mobile gantry lift, together with a comprehensive range of jigs and tools and the latest types of diagnostic equipment. Each of the multiple bays opens on the parking area.

The premises were opened by Mr Alex Rhea, chairman and managing director of Vauxhall Motors Ltd, who said that Bedford trucks sales had increased 34 per cent in the past nine months and were the "best yet".

Truck sales had gone up 46 per cent compared with the same period last year. Mr Rhea was welcomed by Mr Henry Cressman, chairman and managing director of the Bristol Street Group.
