Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Old trucks powered by Gardner diesels can fetch remarkably good money if figures achieved at a recent Saturday sale organised by Malcolm Harrison are anything to go by. Held at the premises of haulier GA Stamper, the closing-down sale saw 197vintage Seddon Atldnson tractors powered by 240hp Gardners selling for between £2,500 and £3,000. One fitted with a 3oohp Gardner went for £3,150.

They'd been standing idle for several years at Stamper's Culgaith, Penrith, Cumbria site, but the engines started without too many problems.

A more modern offering—a 1996 27,000-litre milk tanker trailer—sold for £20,000.

• CM would like to make clear that GA Stamper is not connected with flat-bed specialist JG Stamper, also based in Penrith, which continues to trade as usual.
