As many readers are well aware, contract and spot-hire charges contribute to a large part of operating costs and can be a deciding factor for the bottom line. Hospitals and schools have performance league tables—why not HGV rental companies?
Perhaps Commercial Motor could undertake an up-to-date readers' survey on quality of service, choice, condition of vehicles, costs and, dare I say it, the inevitable contentious "re-charge" invoices. The resulting table could make interesting reading and would provide a useful working guide for hauliers considering the rental option.
