Responsible to the Vehicle Maintenance DSO Manager your role will be the organisation and daily control of the workshop ensuring the service and repair of the Councils fleet to the contract standard, At present 14 skilled Engineering Crafts people and 3 other staff are organised into day and evening shifts and occupy a large centrally situated, fully-equipped workshop. Two radio equipped Mobile Workshops are in use and parts and materials are available through the adjacent stores.
You will need proven experience in supervising all aspects of HGV and plant maintenance and repair as well as holding an HGV driving licence up to Class H. Ref. DE/47/03 Subject to approval, for both posts, an interest free car loan is available together with relocation expenses up to £5000.
