Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Van Hool plans to launch an 18m articulated version of its high-deck T816 Altano into the UK next June.

Left-hand-drive models of the TG822 are already being produced; the .E220,000 artic broke cover last week at the International Brussels Travel Fair.

It has a vertically mounted MAN diesel engine which pro duces 313kW (420hp) driving through a ZF gearbox. The four-axle articulated Altano has an axle steering system which is said to make the coach as manoeuvrable as a conventional 12m coach.

On the Continent the overdecker can be fitted with 42 passenger seats on the upper deck of the front section, with the driver and guide's bunks

and toilet below, and a further 24 seats in the upper deck of the trailer unit with seven bunks below — leaving about 16.5m3 of luggage space.

To comply with UK regulations the 3.76m-high artic will be limited to 62 seats.

Being more than 12m long it will also be prevented by law to travel in the third lane of UK motorways.
