Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE OFFICE move to Sutton this week — correspondents please note — has been in the pipeline for a long time and a couple of years ago a colleague of mine from Hertfordshire tried to find out what the cost of his ticket would be from his British Rail station but travelling part of the way by Underground.

After visiting BR and LT inquiry desks at Waterloo, being then told what number to phone for the information, he did so — being passed on to another lout individuals before being returned to the man he first spoke to. All without success.

So he left the matter until earl)/ last week, when a Tube tickel office clerk advised him to write to LT hq at 55 Broadway, SW1. He did so, but so far has had nc reply.

A colleague living in Suitor was told at that station where hE should phone for the information. He did so, and was ther told to phone yet anothei number, which turned out to bE an answer phone at Liverpoo Street. He recorded his questior and left his number. So far nc reply.

Note to BR: on Monday thc number changed to 01-661 3500. That's if he turns up at work, °I is not arrested for travellin,c, without having paid his fare How will he know what it is?
