STEPHEN TRENNERY has become traffic manager of the Eastern National Omnibus Company Ltd following the retirement of Bob Hanley. Based at the company's Chelmsford head office, Mr Trennery will be responsible for all of Eastern National's services throughout Essex and East Hertfordshire. Prior to joining Eastern National, he worked at the National Bus Company's south-east regional office at Tunbridge Wells.
Robin Shanks has become manager of the new office of Interlink which was recently opened at Larne. He joins Interlink from Ferrymasters Ltd.
Christian Salvesen (Food Services) Ltd has named Robert Watt as sales and marketing executive. Mr Watt has been manager of the company's Felixstowe cold store for eight years, and prior to joining Christian Salvesen, he was production manager at Ross Poultry's Flixton factory in Suffolk. Still at Christian Salvesen, Ian Howie takes over as unit manager of the company's new public cold store at Warrington. Mr Howie joined the company in 1975 and has worked with several of the company's five divisions.
The International Road Transport Union has elected Jose Ernst as its president for 1981/82. Mr Ernst, from Belgium, is the director of a private coach firm. Also elected to the IRU presidential executive is Ron Whittle, proprietor of the Whittle Coach and Travel Group.
David Readman has taken over as secretary of the Freight Transport Association's Scottish region. Mr Readman has worked for ICI Fibres and the National Wool and Textile Export Corporation.
Derek Wagon has become group productivity manager head London Transport's centi productivity unit, which is aim' at increasing the organisatior efficiency. Mr Wagon joined I in 1971 as operational resear officer and later becarr planning research officer.
John McLoughlin has be elected a worker-director on tl board of management of Cor lompair Eireann, the Republic Ireland transport company. TI board of management is cot posed of twelve members, fo of whom are worker-directot Mr McLoughlin, who will ser until 1983, is a senior cleric officer in the CIE area freig office at Limerick.
Len Matthews has retirl from Heavy Transport (ECC) L and is succeeded as managir director by Bill Goldsworthy. I) Matthews joined the family bui ness, Matthews Transport Ltd, 1933. The firm was taken overt English China Clays in 19: when he was appointed ma ager. In 1950 the four transpc companies within the EC Group were reorganised in Heavy Transport (ECC) Ltd at Western Express Haulage (Edi Ltd. Mr Matthews became ma ager of the short distance fle until 1957 when he was appoi ted managing director of bo companies.
