When giving evidence to the "ribunal, Mr Carvill admitted 'habitual carelessness" in corngeting his daily log sheets. He lid not wear his watch because t always stopped, so he filled in is sheets "by reference to the' losition of the sun".
In upholding Mr Carvill's claim see no way in which he could of unfair dismissal, they could have benefited financially by using a tanker for private purposes.
It ruled, however, that Carvill tion he would otherwise have had substantially contributed to his own dismissal and awarded him £210 of the £420 compensabeen entitled to.
