A film shown by Monsanto in Mayfair last week created a great deal of interest in a very mixed audience. Called Windscreen glass under trial, it demonstrated clearly the superior strength of double-laminated glass windscreens compared with the single-laminated variety and toughened glass screens. No secret was made of the fact that doubling the thickness of the laminate trebles the price of the screen. It is an unfortunate fact that safety is often an expensive quality.
