Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Threats of violence and lack of security at this year's Truckfest have convinced a number of hauliers never to return to the event.

Mr Hodgkinson, from Westwood in Nottingham, who took two of his vehicles to this year's event, has told CM of his disappointment: "We were threatened by people coming out of the beertent late on Sunday night," he says. "We looked round for security late at night but could find no-one. Our children were also very frightened by air horns being let off late at night."

Other hauliers have also complained of being woken by drivers sounding their horns (CM Letters 15-21 May).

Hodgkinson represents 14 other hauliers who have sworn never to return to Truckfest. He accuses show organisers Live Promotions of taking truckers' money and then showing a lack of interest in them.

Live Promotions' commercial director Robert Limming expresses his "amazement" at the accusation of a lack of secu rity. He maintains that security was stepped up this year and the security firm was "visible and professional".

"We have had no similar complaints from anyone," he says. "I am amazed that Mr Hadgkinson did not come to us at the event and tell us if he had a problem. We take every care with security—we take it very seriously."
