TAYSIDE Region's transport committee has approved a £1.7m order for 30 Volvo Ailsa B55 double-deckers. Fifteen buses are to be purchased in 1983/84 and the remaining 15 the following year.
They will cost £31,461 each for 1983/84, and be subject to a rise and fall price variation in 1984/85. Bodywork will be supplied by East Lancashire Coachbuilders, which quoted fixed prices of £26,500 In 1983/84 and £28,620 in 1984/85.
