Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A SAVING of two days on their PAregular 3,000 miles shuttle-service between the eastern and western sides of Australia has been made, with the aid of Commonwealth Railways, by Grace Bros., Pty., Ltd., Sydney, a company of furniture removers.

When one of their pantechnicons reaches Port Augusta in South Australia it is loaded on to a train and carried 1,000 miles to Kalgoorlie—saving a circuitous coast-road, route over extremely bad roads. Cost of the rail trip is £A120, plus £A8 10s. for the driver.

The company pioneered the arduous Adelaide to Perth . run in 1951 using a Leyland Titan double-deck chassis with a pantechnicon body. Now the fleet of Leylands includes Titan and Tiger bus chassis and Commet cruiserweights, with pantechnicon bodies.

ALDERSHOT RESTORE RURAL SERVICES

FOLLOWING the recent Excise -Duty reductions, Aldershot and District Traction Co., Ltd., will restore some of the journeys on seven rural bus routes, withdrawn last September.

The augmented journeys, which will not involve using extra buses—but will increase mileage by about 37,000 per year —start on Monday.

Aberdeen Corporation buses carried 30,000 fewer passengers during the year ended May 2, when compared with figures of 10 years ago.

As a result of the decline the Corporation's transport committee, reviewing services which have been operating at a loss, decided to modify some winter services which start in October.

Modifications will be made to the frequency of some services at off-peak periods, particularly in the evenings.
