An Avon truck tyre has a unique construction. It is built to diminish internal friction and thus run cooler and deliver longer life. (Most tyres in the range offer premium quality, giving extra tread depth over conventional truck tyres.) The shape is held by belts tough enough to withstand the rigours of today's powerful engines and give low rolling resistance yet offer excellent high speed performance and grip. The reason for this better performance is simple: it's designed in from the start. For instance, Avon tyre technologists developed the asymetric tread for the AR 160 Steermaster With an extra deep tread (16mm), it resists outer shoulder wear (thus reducing uneven tread wear over the life of the tyre) and lessens `tramlining: EXTRA, EXTRA. READ ALL ABOUT IT. With Extra Tread AR 140, Avon has built the ultimate low-profile (70% and 80% aspect ratio) truck tyre for all axle positions (particularly on the new generation of 17 tonne vehicles). It has a deeper tread than standard tyres and long-life is a built-in feature.
TALKING DUAL PURPOSES.
When you need a drive-axle tyre you can take 'off-road', the Avon Drivemaster is the answer It features a quiet running tread which can be regrooved. It's suitable for all uses from short-haul to high speed trunking yet its 'off-road' capability gives it a real advantage over o-dinary truck tyres. With its massive self-cleaning tread, it gives superb grip without sacrificing longevity The tough tread and moulded shoulder lugs also, of course, give the Drivemaster the extra benefit of 'grabby' traction on rough or loose surfaces.
POWER TO THE PEOPLE. Built for maximum operational economy, the Powermaster is designed for drive axle fitment on both rigid and articulated road vehicles. It can also be fitted to front wheel positions for certain applications. The unique computerdesigned angled tread is constructed from a special longlife' compound. Additionally, proven construction tezhniques combine a single ply casing with four plies of steel tread bracing belts and wide kerbing ribs.
