A TRANSPORT Tribunal judge last week warned a haulier that his operating licence could he removed if he failed to comply with a Licensing Authority's restrictions on movements of trucks in the company's depot.

Firemeadow Ltd, of Alton, Hampshire, was appealing against the South Eastern

LA's decision to restrict vehicle movements in the depot to Sam to 8pm on weekdays, Sam to 3pm on Saturdays and 1pm to 6pm on Sundays.

Company managing director Mr B Wren told the tribunal: "For agricultural work it is virtually impossible to keep these times". He said that weather made it often necessary to react to farmers' requirements there and then.

Judge Hampden rejected the Appeal. He told Wren: "We think the LA almost fell over backwards for you on this," and warned, "If you fail to comply with the conditions then you can have your licence removed."
