LONDON one-perso operated bus drivers fi quently suffer from fatigi related complaints, accordi to a report recently comm sioned by the Greater Loud Council.
The report, by Dr" Mich _ Joffe of the London Hosp .Medical College, is the re of surveys carried out AMC drivers and conductors at London Hoses garages, pulse rate surveys carried at bus stands.
It concludes that the driv of 0-P-0 buses experiei far more physical and mer problems than conductors ; drivers of crew operat vehicles. Over-tiredne backache, headacht shortness of breath and ach. testicles are cited by drivers
Commenting on the rer. GLC transport commit chair Dave Wetzel says, "T report -is a damning indi ment of O-P-0busâ– Everybody but LRT adn that they result in a sloN and vastly inferior bus s vice.
"Now we have conclus proof that by forcing one p son to do the work of tc; they result in more stress illness."
