Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• On Monday this week Crown Garage at Rainham Road South, Old Dagenham, Essex, opened a commercial vehicle testing centre similarly equipped to the Ministry testing stations due to come into action on July 1 this year (CM, March 22).

Mr. R. F. Tibbey, a director of Crown Garage, says that the examination will be as close as possible to that carried out by the MoT, and at the end of the tests a detailed report will be given to the operator. This report will be completely unbiased. And if the machine is passed, Crown Garage is confident that it has little chance of rejection by the Ministry.

A Kismet commercial roller braketester has been installed and this will issue a printed test report. It is computerized so that a simulated load can be calculated. Other equipment includes a smoke tester, an Avery weighing machine and two 40ftlong pits equipped with the most modern lubrication equipment and electric jacks. •
