All these provisions appear in Motor Vehicles (Construction and Jse) (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 1968, No. 426, price 8d. from HMSO.

Announcing this, the Minister of Transport on Wednesday, laid before Parliament regulations vhich will require motor vehicles (except land tractors and stage carriage buses) to be fitted with windscreen washer: most vehicles will also have to have two windscreen wipers. These reguations will take effect on vehicles registered on or after October 1, 1969, but from October 1, 972 all road vehicles will have to comply.

At its technical committee meeting on Tuesday, the RHA disagreed with the notification iroposals and felt that some of the planned rear-marking proposals would be difficult to implenent on vehicles such as site tippers. Three committee members and the secretary, are to meet A inistry representatives on April 3 to discuss these and allied matters.
