NEW STATION AT OXFORD.
OXFORD Corporation has leased to City of Oxford Motor Services, Ltd., for 27 years the western portion, of the Gloucester Green car park at a yearly . rental of £759, and the central buildings at the Green, for offices, etc., at £250 per annum.
COMBINED RAIL AND COACH EXCURSIONS.
A. SCHEME to run coach excursions in conjunction with a railway company was the subject of an application to the Yorkshire Traffic Commissioners, last week. United Automobile Services, Ltd.; sought sanction for a circular tour from Scarborough railway station" to HaYburn Wyke, Hackness, Filey and Bridlington; passengers being brought to Scarborough by rail. •
Certain local operators objected to the proposed fares, contending that they would violate the principle laid down by the Commissioners for the fares to be charged for trips. The Commissioners reserved their decision.
LOWER EXCURSION FARES.
FARE reduttions for summer excur.eions keen Northampton to coastal towns and London have been' sane: tioned by the East Midland Traffic Commissioners. The reductions range from 121 per cent. to 20 per cent.
BRISTOL PIONEER DIES.
THE death has occurred of Mr. W. J. Bence, the founder of W. J. Bence, Ltd., one of the largest independent bus concerns in the Bristol district. Mr. Bence was 72 years of age, and the company owns 20 buses.
The Scottish Motor Traction Co., Ltd.,. is to erect garages in Cadogan Street and Reidvale Street, Glasgow.
The finance committee of Tocimorden Corporation has decided to allocate £6.435 from the motorbus fund to the relief of rates.
Rotherham Corporation has acquired the service of Mr. Thomas Green, operating between Rotherham and Silverwood Colliery.
