• The Department of Health has issued new guidelines on the transportation of chilled and frozen cooked foods. In the HMSO booklet Chilled and Frozen it stresses the need to control temperature levels.
Suitable types of vehicle refrigeration systems listed in the booklet include:
E An insulated vehicle in which cold CO2gas derived from solid CO2 is circulated.
O An insulated vehicle in which cold nitrogen gas derived from liquid nitrogen is circulated.
O An insulated vehicle in which cold air from a mechanical re frigerated unit is circulated. 0 An insulated vehicle which is fitted with pre-chilled or frozen eutectic plates.
