by Stafford Magistrates for an axle overloading offence. Lisser, trading as Spinney Haulage, of Heather, near lbstock, had denied overloading the rear axle of a two-aided rigid 7.5-tormer. Traffic examiner David Gordon said that when the vehide had been checked at the Doxey dynamic axle weighbridge, the rear axle was found to weigh 5,450kg, an overload of 370kg, some 7.2%.

Lisser said that the offence would not have occurred if the driver had obeyed instructions to load the two pallets of bricks so that the weight was evenly spread.

The magistrates ordered Lisser to pay £43.50 costs.
