West Midland Licensing Authority John Mervyn Pugh renewed the council's national licence for seven vehicles and two trailers — an increase of two vehicles. However, he asked that works and transport manager Ronald Whittles reduce the period between inspections from 12 to six weeks. Whittles agreed to introduce a daily nil-defect reporting system and to write to the council's drivers and fitters.
