Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

John Allen and Sons (Oxford), Ltd., Cowley, Oxford, on Stand 365 E, will be exhibiting a self-propelled motor scythe, together with a full range of attachments. The motor scythe powered by a 1.9 b.h.p. two-stroke engine, is capable of hauling a set of three to five-gang-mowers to give a cutting width of 3 ft. to 5 ft. 6 ins.

Several Model B tractors will be shown by the Allis-Chalmers Manufacturing Co., Ltd., Commercial Road. Totton, Southampton, on Stand 331 D. These will be fitted with three-point linkage and various trailed attachments. The Model B tractor is powered by a four-cylindered four-stroke engine, the

belt h.p. of which is 19 when running on paraffin.

A multi-purpose type of power loader, fitted to Fordson, Farmall, and Nuffield tractors, will be found on Stand 291 C to be occupied by T. Baker and Sons, Ltd., Compton, Berks. Of hydraulic pattern, its maximum load capacity is 7 cwt.

The Bristol 20 tractor, with 44-in. track centre, will make its first appearance on Stand 434 E. This is a narrow-track version of the former model and incorporates other modifications. The Bristol tractor employs the Austin industrial power unit, which develops 22 b.h.p. at 1.500 r.p.m., and can he operated on petrol or, when fitted with a dual carburetter, on vaporizing oil. Other standard models made by Bristol Tractors, Ltd., EarbY, Lanes, will be shown on this stand.

The B.M.B. President four-wheeled tractor, made by Brockbouse Engineering (Southport), Ltd., Crossens, Southport, Lanes, was introduced at the Royal Show a year ago and is now in full production. It will be on view on Stand 287 D, together with a range of specially designed implements. Other B.M.B. exhibits will include twowheeled tractors with implements, industrial engines and trailers.

Two oil-engined tractors, employing a new six-cylindered engine, will be exhibited by David Brown Tractors, Ltd., Meltham, Huddersfield, on Stand 179 C. Whilst the existing Cropmasler series has been retained, the two sixcylindered oil-engined models, the Cropmaster 50 and Trackrnaster 50, have been added to the range. The Cropmaster 50 is a heavy agricultural tractor powered by the David Brown direct-injection engine, having an output of 45 b.h.p, at the normal governed speed of 1,600 r.p.m. The same type of direct-injection oil engine is fitted in the Trackmaster 50, but is governed to 1,800 r.p.m.. at which speed it has an output of 50 b.h.p. In addition to these two new tractors, the David Brown stand will have a full range of standard machines, • including Cropmaster vaporizing oil and oil-engined models, a vineyard Cropmaster, three Super Cropmasters and three Trackmasters, one being fitted with a Slaw Knox bulldozer.

The Cuthbertson half-track can he fitted to any standard wheeled tractor, and at Cambridge it will be shown on • a Fordson Major. This form of track, which has neither hinge pins nor track bushes, is made by James A. Cuthbertson, Ltd., Biggar, Scotland. It will be shown on Stand 561 E. by Butterley Co., Ltd., Butterley, Derbyshire.

Various new attachments for the Clifford rotary cultivator and twin-set cultivators for Bristol Tractors will form part of the exhibit of Clifford Aero and Auto, Ltd., Sh:rley, Birmingham, on Stand 244 B.

It is understood that Continental Tractors (Great Britain), Ltd., Feltham, Middlesex, will not be occupying a stand of its own, but will show the models C.B.60 and C.D.40 on four stands occupied by its distributors, including Marshalls (Cambridge), Ltd. (Stand 217 D). The C.D.40 is a general-purpose crawler tractor which is to be shown in normal and narrowgauge form, having total overall widths of 5 ft. 11 ins, and 3 ft. 91 ins. respectively. • It employs an !rat fourcylindered oil engine developing 40 b.h.p. at 1.500 r.p.m., its governed speed. The C.B.60 is a tracked model employing a Berliet four-cylindered oil engine developing 62 b.h.p. at 1,650 r.p.m.

Three tractors, with four and sixwheel-drive, will be shown by Douglas Equipment, Ltd., Cheltenham, on Stand 233 B. The Douglas Logger is already well known throughout the timber industry, but in addition to the range is a new medium tractor employing components of the Commer underfloor-engined chassis. This latter unit is equipped with the six-cylindered petrol engine and drive to both axles, and is designed for use either as an independent tractor or an articulated unit. The third exhibit is the Douglas six-wheel-drive tractor equipped with an A.E.C. 125 b.h.p. oil engine for operation with loads of up to 44 tons gross weight.

Many implements for attachment to the well-known Ferguson tractor will be demonstrated by Harry Ferguson, Ltd., Coventry, on Stand 163 C. The outstand:ng feature of this make of tractor is its hydraulic system which simplifies the manipulation of the numerous attachments, specifically designed for mounting on it.
