The falsification of tachograph records, and other offences, have cost Bath driver Dean Edmunds £650 in fines and costs.
Edmunds pleaded guilty toll offences of falsification; four of driving for more than 4.5 hours without the required 45 minutes' break; and four of failing to enter the finishing place on the centre field of his tachograph charts.
Prosecuting for the Vehicle Inspectorate. Edward Lyons said that at the time of the offences Edmunds had been living in Bristol. Over a period of a couple of months Edmunds had repeatedly opened his tachograph head at Devizes and carried on driving to Bristol. In each case the unrecorded distance varied between 40 and 60km.
Edmunds said he had not realised that he was doing anything wrong. The magistrates fined him a total of £500 with £150 costs.
