Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Low-height fifth wheel tractive units are now available direct from MAN, three of the first entering the Brian Yeardley fleet. The MAN 17.42211T tractive units. due to go on to the road on 1 August, are the first MAN vehicles to join the mainly Volvo fleet and the first MAN quiet Roadhaus models in the UK.

Models available are the 17.272, 17.322, 17.372 and 17.422 FLTs, all with cab and ECAS rear axle air suspension.

The factory-built package includes re-profiling of the rear of the chassis frame area to allow sufficient clearance for axle movement. The use of 2E35/60 22.5s will bring the height down to 960mm but maintains braking efficiency through the use of full size drums and shoes.

Unladen weights are comparable with standard specification versions but the price goes up £4,500. Roadhaus models already have air-suspended cabs so these cost £4,300 extra.

Yeardley's left-hand drive trucks will operate with the company's new high-volume trailers on general haulage contracts throughout Europe. A high speci fication includes low-profile 305/70R22.5 and 275170R22.2 tyres front and rear to give a fifth wheel height of 1,020mm. MAN says its silent package brings noise levels down to 80dB(A),
