JON Simon, of Vehicle Parks, who operate the new West London. coach park in Ashburn Mews, next to Gloucester Road tube station, has some revolutionary plans for heavy vehicle parking up his sleeve Mr Simon intends converting a large site in West London into a complex including a lorry park, a separate coach park, a diesel-only filling station, vehicle repair facilities, a drivers' restaurant and, possibly, a drivers' hotel.
Plans also exist for a similar complex on the 20-acre site of an old gas works in South-East London.
The site backs onto the Thames and the possibility of opening a drivers' hotel on a converted boat is being looked at.
Vehicle Parks' current site at Ashburn Mews provides coach drivers with a lounge, 24 hour information service, telephone, security and message service.
