Which injector?

operate a modern mixed fleet of CVs, After spending £64,000 on a new Volvo FH420 Globetrotter some three years ago I thought I had purchased a good asset.

Despite the new clutch, flywheel, cylinder head gasket and three leaking roof linings it received in its first year and other niggling little faults, I thought my patience would last. Now I'm experiencing a lack of power which is down to an injector, so my local Volvo agent informs me. "Fine, put one in," I say. It's not as simple as that. There's no machine in the country which can determine which injector is down, and because of the electronic system a manual check is useless. Nor is there a machine to service the injectors. So I now face buying a full new set at a cost of £400 each.

Craig Colledge, Guisborough, Cleveland.

0 Volvo replies that it is possible to iden* single faulty injectors but adds that Craig Colledge's power loss may be the result of other factors
