• New from vehicle electrics control specialist Antares (Europe) is the Auxiliary System Manager which is designed to support, protect and control high electrical loads oh vehicles. The microprocessorbased system has been designed to regulate the operation of tail-lifts, retarders, specialised communications equipment, lighting, refrigeration, air conditioning and tools, which all make demands on a vehicle's standard electrics.

This multi-functional unit provides the heart of any system. It is available in 12 or 24V versions and is easy to install with heavy-duty stud connections to batteries. Full encapsulation and high temperature-specified wiring allow installation in the engine compartment to save space. The unit measures 171x131x55mm and, among its many functions, it will perform split charging of

primary and auxiliary batteries; undertake low voltage disconnection of loads to preserve starting battery capacity; convert the alternator into a battery charger; and protect auxiliary loads against high voltage fault conditions.
