Mr. Austen. who in 1946 was appointed chief research engineer of C.A.V. Ltd., Acton, chief engineer in 1959 and a director of the company in 1960, gained his award for. "his leadership of and personal 'contribution: to researchand development of diesel engines and related equipment ". He has previously .Won four prizes awarded by the Institute.
