A NNOUNCING that the Minister of ri Labour intended to set up a Training Board or Boards for the distributive trades, Mr. Richard Marsh, Parliamentary Secretary, stressed on Monday that the Minister was now turning his attention to the service industries. This followed last week's announcement that a Training Board was to be set up for the hotel and catering industry.

Mr. Marsh recorded that the Ministry was already engaged in discussions with the road transport industry and public utilities; he said that the Training Boards set up in the manufacturing and construction industries (five Boards covering six million people) would cover training from the operative level to that of very highly placed graduate employees. He also confirmed that Boards for the timber and furniture manufacturing, building and textile industries were already being discussed.
