Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

you state that drivers who do not drive more than four hours daily and within a 25mile radius of their base need not keep records. I would like to know if this applies in my case. I am the owner-driver of a mobile shop operating within a 25-mile radius. Most of my day is spent serving customers and I estimate that I sit at the wheel less than one hour a day, and cover only 33 miles per week. However, I am with the vehicle most of the time. If I am required to keep records, could you tell me how to make entries in the section "time spent at the wheel"?

A Regulation 12 (2) of the Drivers' Hours (Goods Vehicles) (Keeping of Records) Regulations 1970 states, briefly, that where in a period of 24 hoUrs, a driver does not drive a vehicle (to which these regulations apply) for more than four hours a day and does not drive outside a radius of 25 miles from the operating centre, then he is exempt from the keeping of records. Since you neither drive for more than four hours in aggregate nor venture outside the stated 25-mile radius, there is_no reason why you should keep records.
