Mr Albert Burrows

We announce with regret the deaths of Albert Burrows, Charles Morgan, and L. W. Taylor

Mr Burrows, 53, had been director-general of Merseyside Passenger Transport Executive since its inception in 1966. He died suddenly on Saturday night.

Mr Morgan, general manager of Humphreys Garages, Pontypridd. collapsed during a hearing for an application for a hospital bus service before the South Wales Traffic Commissioners on the Thursday before Christmas. Nurse witnesses applied resuscitation but he died shortly after admission to hospital.

Mr Taylor, 54, was chairman and chief executive of W. E. & F. Dobson Ltd of Nottingham.

Diane Osborne, 23, who was until recently receptionist at the Leicester depot and now has an hgv licence, has been promoted to the Godfrey Davis truck rental spies force at Nottingham.

Because of the continued illness of Frank A. Clayton, Merseyside PTE's divisional manager in the Wirral, Alex Barlow, gm and engineer of St Helens Transport, has been appointed acting divisional manager in the Wirral and an associate director of the Executive. Mr Barlow takes up his duties on February 1. An MPTE spokesman said that Mr Clayton was taken ill earlier this year and had been convalescent since then. -We are extremely sorry that he is not fit enough to resume duty but hope he will make 'good progress". L. Newell, deputy manager at St Helens, will be appointed acting gm when Mr Barlow takes up his new duties responsible for the MPTE Wirral bus services and Mersey ferries.
